Travel is good for the mind as well as the soul

"One’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things." ----Henry Miller

I particularly like this quote by the American Author Henry Miller. It sums up the joy of travel and the thrill of discovery. And it encapsulates one of the core vales of EAST Tours; our belief that a journey should be extraordinary, it should be transformational. Therefore we spend a lot of time with our clients helping them to experience new worlds, opening their eyes and encouraging them to expand their horizons. Travel is very educational.

As this is a core value of ours, it is a practice that we embrace. Hence we invest significant time and resources to grow our Consultants’ knowledge base, to expand our institutional capabilities and to constantly develop our ever growing network of travel partners. Ours is a dynamic and ever changing industry and so we invest continually in our people and product.

One of the ways in which we do this is to attend select travel conferences and international events dedicated to the global luxury travel industry. This year alone we will have team member participate in forums and conventions in Cannes, Rome, Lugano, India, Dubai, South Africa, Australia and more. It’s a busy schedule but we think it’s a valuable investment in our team and in our product. Our goal is to always build our expertise, stay on the leading edge of ideas and thought, and to continually increase our service offerings.

Right now as I write this blog I am in Lugano for MeetingLuxury – International Luxury Travel Exhibition, an invitation-only event designed to bring together travel professionals from around the world. It has been a good event which offers a chance to get caught up with colleagues and associates, to network with potential partners and to be inspired by the options and opportunities we can develop for our customers.

If travel is about new ways of seeing things, then we believe that a little bit of professional development will make our vision even more clear.
